About Us
Just Rights for Children (JRC) was born from the powerful vision in Bhuwan Ribhu's revolutionary book, Just Rights: Why Justice Should Be a Fundamental Right. In this book, JRC’s founder advocates for the Right to Justice as an unshakable, enforceable fundamental right for all children, emphasising the critical need for children to be protected by the state and the legal system.
What began as a movement in India has grown into a global force for change. Today, JRC is a dynamic network of civil society organisations, passionately driving a worldwide movement. Together, we are working to end violence against children and ensuring that survivors of abuse receive the justice, support, and healing they deserve.
At JRC, we believe that justice should be accessible to every child. It’s not just about the legal system—it’s about an all-inclusive, child-centred approach that includes legal aid, law enforcement, adequate compensation, and rehabilitation. We fight for a system that prioritises the needs of children and ensures they are never left behind.
Our mission is to build a protective ecosystem for children—one that prevents harm and provides unwavering support to survivors. We work tirelessly to change behaviours and transform systems to create a world where crimes like child marriage, child trafficking, child labour, and child sexual abuse (including online abuse) are eradicated. Our efforts are grounded in legal reforms, awareness-building, and creating lasting, sustainable change.
In India, we are pioneering grassroots mobilisation, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive. Our survivors have been empowered to raise their voices, demand justice, and fight for their rights. Through our relentless advocacy, we’ve driven accountability in law enforcement, reshaped policies, and delivered tangible justice to those who need it most.
Together, we are creating a just world where justice is not just a hope for every child around the world.
